Journal Entry: January 28th 2018 – Not Feeling All That Amazing

Back to Eating 100% Raw/Plant Based

During the entire week I had all my meals at home. Everything I had was raw, and plant based except for a couple times I had some delicious comb honey. My energy levels were surprisingly low. I also had lower motivation and lower morale than usual. The project I was supposed to start working on got delayed one more week, this definitely affected my overall morale a bit.

Despite eating clean, I haven’t been feeling amazing

During the entire week I’ve been eating as clean as possible, but yet I haven’t been feeling great. I also noticed that my kidneys stopped filtering all together. I had some cellular waste in my urine during my weekly dry-fast on Sunday and Monday, but the rest of the week, my urine was crystal clear. This made me reflect on my current situation and patterns I’ve been following. I’ve been fasting only one day a week for about two months now. I’ve also been alternating periods when I eat 100% raw/plant based diet at home, and periods when I still eat 100% raw/plant based at home in combination with eating out cooked meals. When I go from eating raw to eating cooked meals containing or not animal products, my energy levels tend to sky rocket for a day or two.Continue reading

I am slowly getting back in shape

For the past two weeks I’ve dry-fasted a total number of three days. Two Sundays and one Friday. I have been eating plenty. In addition to my morning yoga, light jogging, and walking activities, I’ve added a bit more physically challenging exercises, and I increased the number of days I go out for a run. I’ve been also using my bike more. My physical activity remains mild, but I feel like I have gained a bit more strength. I am still in the mindset of regeneration, that is why I try to avoid physical activities that may be too taxing for my body. My strategy is to increase my physical activity as my organism is becoming cleaner, more alkaline and  more resilient. I don’t want to steal energy away for regeneration by exercising intensely. Although I think exercising is very beneficial for me, it can also cause fatigue if not adapted to my current situation in terms of my nervous energy capital.Continue reading

Juice-Fast Failure

After my usual Sunday dry-fast, I got started with a juice-fast on Monday. I wasn’t successful at it. I had a delicious red juice all day long, but around 10:00PM, I started to feel lightheaded and hungry. I decided to listen to my body and not pursue with the juice-fast. As much as I love and feel comfortable with dry-fasting, juice and water fasting do not seem to work for me, at the moment. They make me feel as if I’m always missing something. Whereas with dry-fasting, I feel content and in control.Continue reading

Changing My Fasting Pattern

As we start the month of December I have decided to switch gears and change my fasting pattern. For the past month and a half, I’ve been dry-fasting between three to four days a week. During that period the actual pattern helped me in being more productive, and I saw a considerable increase in my kidney filtration abilities. Before getting started with the new pattern I intend to do an intermittent fast today during the day, and eat plenty at night. Tomorrow Saturday, I am planning on eating and drinking plenty as well. On Sunday, I will start a 36 hour dry-fast until Monday afternoon.

Starting Monday I want to introduce the new fasting-pattern. A 100% juice fast. The idea is to only consume juice and coconut oil for x amount of consecutive days. I am planning on avoiding all solid food. I haven’t decided how long I am going to fast this way. As usual I expect my body to guide me. Continue reading

Dry-Fasting Four Days a Week

Exactly a week has past by since my last entry. Adding Wednesdays as an extra dry-fasting day has been working out great for me. At the moment I am only eating and drinking on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I think last week was an extremely productive week. In addition to only eating three days a week, I did not eat out once, and I did not consume any products of animal origin since November 18th. My plan is to keep this dry-fasting pattern, and allow myself to eat out maybe every 14 days or so. I am thinking of having some Indian food at Mumbai on Saturday to feed my body with animal protein and various spices they ship directly from India. We’ll see, I’m not %100 sure if I’ll go out this week or wait one more week. Eating only three days a week, and preparing everything at home has been working out really well for me for the past week. This is why I wouldn’t like to change much until my body asks for something different. In  addition to feeling better and doing more things, I have to admit that my current fasting-pattern has been helping my budget a lot. When one eats only three days a week, at home, and raw food, it makes a huge difference on the finances.Continue reading

Introducing a Fourth Day to my Weekly Dry-Fasting Pattern

For the past month or so I’ve been fasting on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays. I decided to introduce one extra day. Today is Wednesday and I am not going to break my dry-fast until tomorrow Thursday. The three day weekly fasting has been working great for me. As I often mention it throughout this blog, from what I’ve been experiencing so far, the human body does not seem to like the routine too much. In addition, during the days I am eating I have been eating way too much. While fasting three days a week, Wednesdays and Thursdays have been the only consecutive days during which I have been eating two days in a row. Eating a massive amount of food on two consecutive days has been slowing me down a bit on several occasions. Now I want to see what will happen with me introducing Wednesday as an extra dry-fasting day. If it works well for me, I may keep things this way, or pick a different extra day of the week. Adding Saturdays could be interesting, since it will allow me to dry-fast three consecutive days during the week.Continue reading

Like a Metronome

My current weekly dry-fasting pattern has been acting like metronome on my life lately. I’ve been dry-fasting on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. I’m working from home on two of the dry-fasting days: Tuesdays and Fridays. I am producing for about 10 to 12 hours of pure work per working day. Since I am on a freelancer contract, I only take into account the hours when I am actually in front of the computer working. In terms of food intake, it has been a mix of me preparing raw vegetarian food at home, and going out to eat traditionally cooked food.Continue reading

Low Energy

I’ve been on a Sunday, Tuesday, Friday dry-fasting pattern for over a week now . On Friday my shift at work got cancelled. I was morally affected by the situation. When a shift gets cancelled, it means 50% less work for an entire week. I still don’t know if I’ll be able to make sustainable living with this work opportunity. In addition to the low morale, I had lower energy than usual. I tried to be productive during the morning. In the afternoon I decided to go to Palermo and do a long walk. I always have my e-book reader with me. When I get tired I usually read a chapter or two from the e-reader. I’m reading “The Stand” from Stephen King at the moment. I enjoyed my time in Palermo, the weather was partially cloudy and windy. As the clouds were passing in front of the sun, I would get or not get exposure to the sun. Moments with direct sunlight were out-winning the cloudy moments. I was able to spend over an hour at the “Plaza Armenia”. After completing several chapters of my book, I decided go back home to do more work on my own projects. I had low energy all day, and I had been feeling kind of tired. After making it back home, I was able to spend less than an hour on the computer. I decided to go to bed. It was only 7:00PM. I followed my instinct and went to bed. It was a bit hard at first to fall asleep on a Friday night in my neighborhood due to the noise coming from the street, but I somehow at one point managed to bed down.Continue reading

New Job, New Fasting Pattern

After the nine-day dry-fast I fed my body with liquids for a day and a half. The following three days I allowed myself to have solid food along with the daily juices.  Next, I did a 36 hour dry-fast, ate for one day, and now I’m finishing an other 36 hour dry-fast. My initial idea was to try to alternate fasting and non-fasting days. I was curious to see the effects on my productivity, and overall body weight. I mentioned in earlier journal entries how much weight I had lost due to dry-fasting. In April 2016 my wight was of 85 kg. /187lbs. Today I weight 64 kg. /141 lbs. By fasting more regularly, and for shorter periods of time, I am hoping to maintain, and gain some weight. The biggest challenge I can see so far in doing shorter fasts, is to find a system where I can keep my produce fresh, and purchase the right amount of produce to minimize waste.

Today I came up with a slightly different idea for my new fasting pattern. As of yesterday I started a regular freelancer job. I am going to be working Tuesdays and Fridays. Yesterday’s shift was over 12 hours and I was dry-fasting the entire day. Each day I’ll be working, I need to deliver my work at the end of the day. Not being distracted by food on those days, can give me a considerable edge on delivering on time and producing better quality work. This is why I decided to keep my regular habit of fasting on Sundays, and add Tuesdays and Fridays in order to form a new dry-fasting pattern. That way, I will be pretty close to a pattern of alternating  fasting and non-fasting days.Continue reading

Last Hours

Today is the day I am going to break my nine day dry-fast. In exactly one hour it’s going to be 216 hours that I haven’t had a drop of water nor solid food. I wasn’t planning on breaking the fast right at the 216 hour mark, but I just woke up naturally early this morning. It’s 3:00 AM now.Continue reading
