Journal Entry: January 28th 2018 – Not Feeling All That Amazing

Back to Eating 100% Raw/Plant Based

During the entire week I had all my meals at home. Everything I had was raw, and plant based except for a couple times I had some delicious comb honey. My energy levels were surprisingly low. I also had lower motivation and lower morale than usual. The project I was supposed to start working on got delayed one more week, this definitely affected my overall morale a bit.

Despite eating clean, I haven’t been feeling amazing

During the entire week I’ve been eating as clean as possible, but yet I haven’t been feeling great. I also noticed that my kidneys stopped filtering all together. I had some cellular waste in my urine during my weekly dry-fast on Sunday and Monday, but the rest of the week, my urine was crystal clear. This made me reflect on my current situation and patterns I’ve been following. I’ve been fasting only one day a week for about two months now. I’ve also been alternating periods when I eat 100% raw/plant based diet at home, and periods when I still eat 100% raw/plant based at home in combination with eating out cooked meals. When I go from eating raw to eating cooked meals containing or not animal products, my energy levels tend to sky rocket for a day or two.Continue reading

Raw Food 101 – For a Better Monday Style

Raw Food 101

My Personal Background in regard to Raw Food

Switching to a raw diet was the very first step I took in my attempt for a healthier living. In April 2016 I considerably increased the amount of raw food in my diet. I never went 100%, but for the first eight months straight, I ate about 95% raw. I was even eating meat and eggs raw. In addition to eat uncooked food, I also quit dairy products, cereals, processed sugars and alcohol. After the initial eight month period, I started to occasionally consume dairy products, and cooked food, but with alcohol, I haven’t consume any since then. I would not recommend to quit everything at once the way I did, but rather approach change progressively. Today (Nov 2017) I am eating for about 75% raw. I think having a diet made of higher percentage of raw food is probably the main pillar of the sustainable change I was able to make.Continue reading

Fasting Three Consecutive Days a Week I

I was able to increase my productivity this week. I ended up dry-fasting for three and a half days (for about 90 hours to be more exact – From Saturday night to Wednesday afternoon). On Wednesday and Thursday I’ve only eating raw food prepared at home. On Friday I went out and had a raw dish at Buenos Aires Verde.  Last night, my last meal of the week was some cooked fish in shrimp sauce at the Peruvian restaurant La Conga.Continue reading

Journal Entry: August 21st 2017 – Trying to understand the moments when I’m not fasting

Trying to understand the moments when I’m not fasting

It has been a bit over two weeks since my last seven day dry-fasting experience. I ate regularly for about 2 weeks. On the first Sunday I had a 40 hour dry-fast. The following Sunday, meaning yesterday, I started a new fast. I’m not planning on breaking it after 40 hours this time. I’m planning on keeping going for a few days. The past couple weeks, I was able to observe that the periods when I am eating on a regular basis are not optimum. Most of the food I’m eating is raw and organic, but I feel like I’m eating way too much, and way many different things. This situation results in me having a lot of pleasure while feeding myself, but I can feel my body not functioning as well as when I’m fasting.Continue reading
